About this work
The second day of Creation: an angel, with the four winds on his head, separates the waters of the sky from the waters of the earth. The waters of the sky are personified by a woman holding a jug from which water flows. In her other hand she holds a rainbow. The waters of the earth are personified by a river god, with a jug from which water flows. On his head are shells. According to the biblical text in Gen. 1:6-8.
