About this work
Four scenes from the story of Medea. On the right Creusa, the bride of Jason, sitting in front of her father Creon. Behind Creusa stands a soldier. Left next to the soldier Creusa collapses, from the pain of the burns she received from the mantle Medea had given her. Left of Creusa stands Medea with her two children. Far left Medea stands on a chariot drawn by dragons. Over her shoulder she holds one of her children, whom she will later murder. In the background the Forum Romanum.
