About this work
Hercules holds the giant Antaeus around the waist. Because Antaeus was invincible as long as he remained in contact with the earth, Hercules lifted him off the ground. Next to them an old woman sits watching on the ground. In the background a landscape with buildings and ruins. In the lower margin a cartouche without text.
