About this work
In the workshop of Baccio Bandinelli students are drawing. The Florentine sculptor held one of the earliest drawing academies in the Cortile del Belvedere in the Vatican. Around a table sit students who copy a modello by candlelight. On the right Bandinelli sits with another modello in his hands. In the room several modelli and vases are arranged, which cast strong shadows on the walls just like the figures.
