Alexander the Great stands on the left and Diogenes sits on the right on the ground in front of the tub in which he lived. Ten figures stand around them. Gesturing with his hand Diogenes asks Alexander not to stand in his light. Middle bottom three lines of Latin text (Juvenal's 'Satires': XIV, 311-313).
