About this work

The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus under construction. The tomb of King Mausolus, a Persian city-ruler of Halicarnassus from the 4th century BC. It was built after his death in 353 BC by order of his widow, Queen Artemisia. Text in Latin in the lower margin.
