About this work

In the foreground Venus sits with the sleeping Cupid between her legs. On the left the three Graces, one of whom holds a flute. In the sky on the left Mercury, in the middle Jupiter in the form of an eagle with Ganymede on his back, and on the right Phaëton falling from his chariot by Jupiter's lightning bolt.
