About this work

In a landscape, the king's daughter Psyche sits while being abandoned by her beloved Amor. In the background, Psyche attempts to throw herself into a river and is comforted by the god Pan. Italian text in two cartouches in the lower margin. Numbered bottom left: 14 (twice).
