About this work
On this somewhat peculiar representation a stable boy lies asleep on the ground in a stable with a pitchfork and a currycomb in his hands. Behind him stands a horse, seen from behind, turning its head towards the viewer. To the right stands a witch; she leans over a small wall and waves with a burning torch. On the wall hangs a shield with a unicorn.
