The Christian soldier in the middle is flanked by the allegorical figures Divine Inspiration (Inspiration Divine) and Faith (la Foy). He tramples evil in the form of a snake. The soldier stands in a landscape where on the left an angel plays an organ with above in the heaven Christ with the cross on a cloud. On the right a devil, who symbolizes temptation, plays an organ. Behind the soldier two paths run. The path on the left, titled 'Sentier de Vie' that is walked by the allegorical figures Justice (Justice), Charity (Charité) and Hope (Espérance) leads to Christ in heaven. The path on the right, titled 'Chemin de la mort' is walked by Lust (la Chair), Pride (L'Orgueil) and Laziness (L'Ennui), leads to hell.
