About this work
Christ is bound to a pillar and a soldier inflicts blows with a rod. Two soldiers sit on the ground and both are making a rod. To the rear left Pontius Pilate watches the execution of his order. Against the back wall of the room are depicted the electoral and ducal arms of Saxony.
