About this work
Eve plucks an apple from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam sits beside her under the tree with an apple in his hand. The snake coils around a branch. Around the tree lie and stand animals including red deer with large antlers but also a lion. In the background right a stag and a hind are accompanied by horses, sheep and a pig. Top left on the branch of a tree hang two shields with the electoral and ducal coat of arms of Saxony.
