Tournament on the Market Square in Wittenberg

Tournament on the market square in Wittenberg. Within an enclosure, knights on horseback with lances are in a tangle. Spectators have gathered on the square and people hang out of windows of the buildings around the square to see the event. On a large balcony, the nobility of the court of Saxony sits, the tapestry hanging over the balustrade is decorated with two shields on which the electoral and ducal coat of arms of Saxony are depicted. In the back left, a group of musicians on horseback stands, most men blow on a trumpet, one man beats a drum.
