About this work
The shield with the coat of arms of Death depicted as a death's head or skull with a worm crawling between the grinning jaws. On top of the shield stands a helmet with the attribute of Death, an hourglass, between two skeletal arms. The coat of arms is flanked by a richly dressed man and woman. On the verso is a fragment of French text.
