About this work
The discontented Israelites are punished with a plague of poisonous snakes. They lie on the ground, bitten by the snakes. Moses and Aaron stand on the right next to a tau-shaped pole with a bronze snake which would heal the people again. In the margin above the image is the text Numbers XXI.
