About this work

Athaliah, Queen of Judah, tears her clothes in anger because Joash has been crowned king and sits on the throne. The high priest Jehoiada orders Athaliah to be killed outside the temple. To the left Athaliah is killed. In the margin above the image is the text IIII Regvm XI [2 Kings 11].
