About this work

Mary and Joseph have brought Christ to the temple. The high priest Simeon holds the Child in his arms. Joseph kneels before them and holds a pair of doves. The prophetess Anna looks on in adoration. At the bottom a two-line Bible quote from Luke 2 in Latin.
