About this work

Under a tree sits Tamar on the lap of her father-in-law Judah. Tamar is disguised as a prostitute and wears a veil over her face. In her hand she holds the staff that she had received from Judah together with a ring, a bracelet and a kid goat as collateral in exchange for intercourse.
