About this work

Muzzled, enslaved inhabitants of Bengal kneel before a Dutch merchant and his retinue. The selling party is referred to in the text as 'die van de Jeliassen'. This term is used for a specific type of galley, described in the text as being used by 'Arakanese robbers'. In the background, a fight rages.
