About this work
The Spanish army commander and Governor of the Netherlands Requesens dies unexpectedly at the table during a banquet in Brussels, 5 March 1576. Around him terrified men making wild gestures. This print forms part of a series of 24 prints depicting scenes from the life of Prince William I, 1568-1584, and is an illustration to the sixteenth canto.
