About this work

In front of the Town Hall on the Dam and the New Church in Amsterdam, the burgomaster of Amsterdam Hendrik Hooft Daniëlsz. is escorted by his officers to his carriage and cheered by the patriots. Below the image stand two columns with text with between them a coat of arms crowned with a laurel wreath with two fasces underneath.
