About this work

Portrait of the poet Jakob Zeeuws in an oval medallion, flanked by two allegorical figures in a mournful pose. In the foreground a putto has laid down a trumpet and lyre. On the pedestal, with the poem on the death of Jacob Zeeuws, lies an extinguished torch.
