About this work
An old woman holds a well-filled purse in one hand and a coin in the other. At her feet stand a money chest and two money bags, behind her sits a toad, above her flies a little devil. Below the image the Latin term for the sin personified by the woman. This print is part of a series of seven prints in which the seven deadly sins are depicted as allegorical figures.
