Mary sits on a throne, the Christ Child standing on her knees, St. James the Greater at her right side, St. Jerome with his lion at her left side. This print is part of (the second state of) a series of 29 views of paintings and sculptures in churches in Rome, numbered 1-16 and 1-13. (The first state of this series, in which the prints are unnumbered, also includes a title print).
