About this work
A priest (Saint Basil or Clement?) stands before an altar in a church. Around him a number of listeners, including a woman with a child and a soldier. This print is part of (the second state of) a series of 29 representations of paintings and sculptures in churches in Rome, numbered 1-16 and 1-13. (The first state of this series, in which the prints are unnumbered, also includes a title page).
