About this work

Representation of a vulture on a tree branch. A little face in a cloud blows at him. Above and below this print Latin and French texts in letterpress. This sheet is part of the emblem series 'Life of Mary in Emblems'. The first state of this series includes, besides a title page and 26 emblems, also three sheets with hymns to Mary in letterpress without images.
