Representation of a half-open oyster on a beach. Rain falls on the pearl lying in the oyster. Three men on the right. This sheet is part of the emblem series 'Life of Mary in Emblems'. The first state of this series comprises, in addition to a title page and 26 emblems, three sheets with hymns to Mary in letterpress without images.
