Catherine kneels before her husband Peter I the Great. He crowns her Empress on May 18, 1724. They are surrounded by various personifications. On the left, Abundance and Prudence near Minerva. On the right, Justice and Urania, the muse of astronomy. In the upper left, Fame blowing a trumpet.
