About this work

The personification of Heroic Poetry leads a boy, who symbolizes the genius of Homer, to the Temple of Memory. Envy (Invidia) tries to stop them. Mnemosyne, the goddess of memory, opens the doors of the temple. Father Time hangs a portrait medallion of Homer above the entrance. In the sky Fame (Fama) blowing a trumpet. With a blank margin.
