About this work
Icarus and his father Daedalus escape from Crete. Icarus, however, flies too close to the sun, causing the wax of his wings to melt, his wings to fall off, and he crashes into the sea. In the margin the title in French, English, German and Dutch. The scene is decorated with an ornamental border.
