About this work

Faith (Fides) on a cloud, accompanied by putti. They carry the tablets of the Law and the serpent biting its own tail (symbol of eternity). Faith points with her right hand to attributes referring to the offering of sacrifices and transitory glory. With her left hand she points to heavenly redemption that follows if one observes the laws. In the margin a Bible quote from 2 Cor. 3:11 in French.
