About this work

Departure at night. The wig-maker, Brontin and Boirude are startled by an owl flying out of a lectern. In the foreground a saw, a hammer, nails, a glass and a bottle of wine. The representation is decorated with an ornamental frame crowned by a Medusa head. At the bottom an open songbook and various attributes of a bishop.
