About this work
The Staalmeesters: the college of Staalmeesters or wardens of the Amsterdam cloth dyers' guild, gathered around a table on which a Persian carpet lies, the open sample book on the table. Depicted from left to right: Jochem de Neve (1629-81), Aernout van der Mye (ca. 1625-81), the servant Frans Hendricksz Bel (1629-1701), Willem van Doeyenburg (ca. 1616-87), Volckert Jansz (1605/10-81), Jacob van Loon (1595-1674). To the left above the fireplace a painting with a burning beacon.
