About this work
Trial print for the title page of the Wapenhandelinghe. An architectural frame on which two cherubs sit, each with a laurel wreath in their hands. The space for the coat of arms, title data, and address within the frame is empty. On the left, a suit of armor on a standard, on the right two muskets. At the bottom, the date 1607, changed with a pen to 1608. This print (at least its final state) is the title page for a whole of three introductory texts and numbered print series on handling the arquebus, the musket, and the pike.
