About this work
A peacock and a nightingale in the foreground. The goddess Juno in the clouds. The fable tells how the peacock complains to Juno that although he is beautiful, he cannot sing. He is jealous of the nightingale's singing voice. Juno answers him that one cannot have everything in life. The moral of the story teaches that one must use the gifts one has received.
