About this work
Two monkeys performing tricks for a group of spectators, accompanied by the music of a bagpipe. One of the monkeys reaches for some nuts lying in the lap of a woman. The fable describes how two monkeys dance for an audience. One of the monkeys suddenly jumps on a woman and tries to grab the nuts she is eating. During the ensuing struggle, the woman exposes her naked legs. The moral of the story teaches that no one can hide their true nature.
