About this work
A falling half-naked man decorated with feathers (tapoeijer) seems to be attacked by various birds, including an eagle and a cockatoo. The man (France, represented as the original inhabitant of America) tried to catch the parrot to get his gold (Portugal and his possessions in America), but falls out of the tree and dies. All other birds come to retrieve their feathers, which the man had previously stolen. Title on a separate text sheet.
