Siege and capture of Naarden by the Prince of Orange, 12 September 1673. In the foreground scenes from military life in the army camp. In the middle the burgomaster of Naarden kneels before the prince who is surrounded by his staff of officers. In the distance the siege and storming of the city. At the top on a hanging cloth a small map of the city and the positions of the besiegers, next to it a poem 'On the Siege of Naarden' in six lines. With multiple inscriptions in the depiction.
