Martin Luther, German preacher and reformer. Bust to the left, in an ornamental border with emblems (burning candles, tables of the law). Below the portrait, four lines of Latin inscription in a cartouche. Above the portrait MARTINUS LUTHERUS. In the border at the top: IN SILENTIO ET SPE ERIT FORTITUDO VESTRA.
