About this work
The coat of arms of the Dutch colonial enterprise Sociëteit van Suriname. This had three participants: the West India Company, the family of Aerssen van Sommelsdijck, and the city of Amsterdam. The coat of arms shows the arms of these three participants and the coat of arms of Suriname. Putti play with Surinamese products, such as cane sugar. On the left and right the coats of arms of the members of the Directorate of the Sociëteit van Suriname.
