About this work
Ceiling painting in the dome vault of the Chapelle de Seaux: Christ, carried by angels after his ascension, sends the Holy Spirit to the earth. He sits on a cloud and is surrounded, along the edge of the round ceiling, by countless music-making angels on a balustrade. In the margin a biblical quote from Isa. 45:22 and an explanation of the image in French.
