About this work
Armida finds the sleeping Rinaldo and approaches to kill him with a dagger out of revenge. At the sight of the handsome young man, however, she falls in love. Amor, with a burning torch in his hand, gives two putti the order to stop Armida. On the left in the background the river Orontes in Syria and on the right the river god of this river. At the bottom of the margin explanatory text in French.
