About this work
Accompanied by Minerva, Hercules ascends in a chariot drawn by four horses to Olympus. On the clouds sit Victoria, with a laurel wreath for the hero, and Fame, who blows the trumpet. Print is part of a series of prints that together represent the painted ceiling with the Apotheosis of Hercules in the Hôtel Lambert in Paris.
