Portrait of the Amsterdam preacher Caspar de Carpentier at the age of 43. The portrait was made on the occasion of his appointment in Amsterdam in 1650. He stands before a table on which lies an open book. Below the portrait his name, place of birth, year and place of appointment and his age. Below that two laudatory poems in Dutch and in Latin.
