About this work

Portrait of Judocus Cats, dean of the Chapter in Haarlem, on a temple with burning oil lamps. He holds a small book in his hand. In the oval frame around his portrait are his name, title and birth and death dates. Above the portrait his coat of arms. On the pedestal a panegyric. On the temple on a broken pediment the motto "Justus ex fide vivit".
