About this work

St. Fulgentius, an early Christian hermit and later bishop of Ruspe, before a cave in a coastal landscape (Sardinia). He has his hands folded in prayer. Behind him in the cave, a monk at the altar with an image of Mary and Child. In the background, left, two monks walking along the beach.
