About this work

Christ ascends towards heaven. He holds a cross with a banner. On the edge of the open tomb sits an angel. Before the tomb some surprised soldiers and a dog are depicted. To the left Mary and Mary Magdalene approach with two jars of ointment. Behind them lies a city. Below the image is a twelve-line Latin text describing the scene.
