About this work
In a hilly, wooded landscape, Venus, Adonis, and Cupid chase two hares. They are accompanied by two dogs. Adonis carries a spear, and Cupid holds a drawn bow and arrow. At the bottom, the episode in the story is explained in a four-line French text.
