About this work
Shell-like ornament in which figures are trapped. At the bottom, a man (left) and a woman (right) are clamped in shells. At the top, children climb around on projections of strapwork. Sheet F from a series of 12 sheets, numbered A-M, with flat decorations of grotesques with strapwork, satyrs, garlands, trophies, animals and fantasy creatures.
