About this work

Niche on a plinth, carried by herms and a naked boy. In the niche hangs a smoking brazier. On either side of the niche a satyr, who carries a beam. On the beam rests a grotto with a representation of Vulcanus in his smithy. Belongs to a series consisting of a title page, a text page and 14 sheets with grotesques with scrollwork, satyrs, garlands, trophies, animals and fantasy creatures.
